Boeing’s chief executive, Kelly Ortberg, recently expressed his desire to reset relations with the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) in a bid to secure a new labor contract. The current labor agreement, which has been in place for 16 years, is set to expire soon, prompting negotiations between Boeing management and the IAM. The union has demanded a pay increase of at least 40% over three years, along with improved benefits such as healthcare coverage and pensions.
