Personally, I have always been perplexed by the idea of generating mini versions of oneself through parenthood. The whole concept of raising children seems like a strange subculture to me, one that I rarely encounter in my daily life.

One game that seems to cater to parents and their children is “Run From Mummies,” a same-screen co-op game that offers a fun and lighthearted gaming experience. In this game, players assume the roles of tourists trapped in a giant pyramid filled with undead creatures, spike traps, and laser-beam statue bosses. Armed only with a camera, players can stun enemies and interact with the environment using the flash feature.

While “Run From Mummies” may seem like a game about archaeology on the surface, it is more focused on providing an entertaining and cooperative gameplay experience. The demo version of the game available on Steam showcases the engaging mechanics of the game, including the ability to explore seven different regions with hand-drawn cutscenes. The game offers secrets and lore to uncover, adding depth to the overall experience.

The gameplay of “Run From Mummies” may remind some players of classic games like Sega Dreamcast’s Power Stone. However, with its top-down perspective and 2D graphics, this game has a more cartoonish and lighthearted feel. This aesthetic may not appeal to older children who prefer more realistic 3D graphics in their games, such as the upcoming Indiana Jones game.

One interesting aspect of the new Indiana Jones game is its photography mechanic, which tasks players with taking photos of various objects within the game world.
