Devolver Digital’s Summer Game Fest 2024 Highlights

Devolver Digital’s presence at Summer Game Fest 2024 was as unique as ever, with a focus on a handful of truly interesting indie games. One standout title was Possessor, a slick side-scrolling action game from the creators of Solar Ash and the Hyper Light games. The game follows Luca, the host, and Rehm, her less-than-cooperative counterpart, as they navigate a quarantined city devastated by an interdimensional catastrophe. Players must learn to coexist with these two characters in order to survive the challenges ahead.

Another highlight from Devolver’s showcase was Tenjutsu, the first release from Deepnight Games. This game, developed by Sébastien Benard, promises to deliver a unique experience as players take on the role of a renegade yakuza navigating the criminal underworld. With a mix of pixel art visuals and fast-paced action, Tenjutsu is sure to capture the attention of indie game enthusiasts when it is released in 202X.

Devolver Digital also unveiled an exciting first-person shooter with a twist – players not only shoot but also do a lot of kicking and collect sneakers. Developed by Free Lives, the studio behind Broforce and Cricket Through the Ages, this game is expected to be both silly and violent, offering a unique gameplay experience when it launches this summer.

The Crush House caught the attention of many viewers with its intriguing concept of producing a reality TV show set in 1999. Developed by Nerial, the studio behind the Reigns series, the game offers players the opportunity to explore the darker mysteries lurking beyond the superficial cast gossip. With a blend of strategy and mystery, The Crush House is shaping up to be a must-play title for fans of unique indie games.

In addition to showcasing upcoming titles, Devolver Digital also announced new content updates for two of its popular games. Cult of the Lamb, the cult simulator known for its charming yet quirky gameplay, will receive the Unholy Alliance expansion on August 12th. This free update includes new quests, gear, and items, as well as a co-op mode for players to enjoy with friends. On June 14th, fans of The Talos Principle 2 can look forward to the Road to Elysium expansion, which introduces new challenges spread across three chapters, each with its own unique storyline and gameplay mechanics.

Devolver Digital’s presence at Summer Game Fest 2024 did not disappoint, offering a glimpse into the diverse and captivating world of indie gaming. With a mix of unique gameplay experiences and exciting new content updates, Devolver continues to push the boundaries of what indie games can achieve.
