Instagram Unveils Profile Song Feature for Enhanced User Customization

Instagram has recently introduced a new feature called ‘profile song’ that allows users to add a specific song to their profiles. This feature aims to enhance user customization and provide a way for individuals to express their mood or preferences through music.

To debut the profile song feature, Instagram has teamed up with US-based singer and actress Sabrina Carpenter. The collaboration includes a short teaser of her upcoming song “Taste” from an upcoming album. Users can select this song or choose from a list of licensed tracks to add to their profiles.

Setting up the profile song feature is simple and can be done by following a few easy steps:
1. Go to your Profile tab and select “Edit profile”
2. Tap on “Add music to your profile”
3. Search for your favorite song or browse the “For You” section to discover new tracks
4. Choose the song you want to add and select the duration for the clip (up to 30 seconds)

At the moment, the profile song feature is available on all consumer and creator accounts for Instagram on Android devices. However, it has not yet been rolled out on the iOS app. Users can expect this feature to be accessible across all platforms in the near future.

Instagram has been expanding its media-related offerings in recent months. In July, the platform introduced a multi-audio track feature for Instagram Reels, allowing users to add up to 20 tracks to a single video. This feature enables users to align audio with text, add stickers, clips, and other elements to enhance their creations. Additionally, the app offers options to generate fade effects and overlap audio clips, providing users with more creative freedom.

Instagram’s new profile song feature adds another layer of personalization to user profiles, allowing individuals to showcase their music preferences and mood through their account. With the collaboration with Sabrina Carpenter and the expansion of media-related features, Instagram continues to evolve as a platform for creative expression and social connection.
