Da’Vine Joy Randolph kicking off the night by winning Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her performance in The Holdovers was definitely a shock to many. Additionally, John Cena’s surprising bit of nudity while announcing Poor Things’ win for Best Costume Design added an element of unpredictability to the ceremony.

Justine Triet’s moving speech upon winning Best Original Screenplay for Anatomy of a Fall resonated with the audience. The Godzilla Minus One creative team also made a memorable appearance, carrying Godzilla action figures on stage to receive the award for Best Visual Effects.
