WhatsApp to Introduce Chat Themes and Username PIN Feature

WhatsApp to Introduce Chat Themes and Username PIN Feature

WhatsApp has been working diligently on a new feature that will allow users to customize their chat experience through the use of themes. This feature will give users the ability to change the colour of chat bubbles and background using preset themes or by selecting their own colours and wallpapers. The company has been testing a theme picker menu in the beta versions of WhatsApp for both Android and iOS.

When this feature is officially launched, users will have the option to choose from 10 different theme presets. These presets will include solid colour backgrounds and themes based on landscape art, with chat bubble colours matching the background colours. The theme picker on iOS is currently in development, and users will have to wait until it is ready to be tested before they can access and apply these themes.

Username PIN Feature

In addition to the chat themes, WhatsApp is also developing a Username PIN feature that is aimed at enhancing privacy and security for users. This feature will allow users to create a unique username and set a PIN that will protect them from unknown users and unwanted contact. Users will be prompted to set a PIN after they create a unique username on WhatsApp.

The Username PIN feature will enable users to control who can start new conversations with them by sharing the PIN with only those they wish to communicate with. By setting a passcode for their username, users will have the ability to prevent spammers and unwanted chats from reaching them. This feature, similar to the chat themes, is still in development and will be rolled out to beta testers before it becomes accessible to all users.

WhatsApp’s upcoming features, including chat themes and the Username PIN feature, are aimed at providing users with more customization options and enhancing their privacy and security while using the messaging app. The company’s dedication to developing new features that cater to user preferences and needs is evident in the continuous improvements and updates being made to the platform. As these features are tested and rolled out to beta testers, users can look forward to a more personalized and secure messaging experience on WhatsApp.
